Yoga Therapy

Feel Better. Move Better. Live Better.

Although yoga as a practice by definition is generally therapeutic, there are distinct differences between yoga practice and yoga therapy. As a yoga therapist, I focus on my clients' individual needs and develop treatment plans uniquely designed for them. I am trained to assess clients through active listening, observation of static myoskeletal structure and the body during movement. My goal is to understand my clients' patterns and design a practice to support them, helping to reduce or manage their symptoms, improve their function, and help them with their attitude in relation to their health condition.

Yoga therapy sessions are 60 minutes long and start with initial assessment session, which includes a full health history, a body/gait analysis and a conversation about the client's goals for treatment. After an initial assessment session, I develop a practice to meet the needs and goals of the client. In subsequent sessions, I'll work with the client to teach them the practice, track the clients progress and modify as needed along the way. The number of follow-on sessions varies by clients' needs, goals, and expectations.
